Tardy Policy

Good attendance is critical to academic achievement. The school is responsible for working with each student and his/her family to encourage excellent school attendance. For this purpose we are implementing a new tardy policy.

Sand  Ridge Tardy Policy

1st Tardy               Teacher warning

2nd Tardy              Parent contact by Student Advocate. Student contact by administration.

3rd Tardy               Tardy contract with administration.  The student will

be required to sign the contract and bring the contract

home for a parent signature and return the contract to the

student advocate within 3 days. If the contract is not

returned the student will attend lunch intervention.

4th Tardy               Parent contact by administration, ā€œNā€ for citizenship, and

                             lunch intervention

5th Tardy               Parent contact by administration, ā€œUā€ for citizenship, and

                             lunch intervention

6th plus Tardies      Lunch intervention and referral to administrator for

additional consequences which may include suspension.

Lunch Intervention

Each tardy that needs to be made up will take the entire lunch period.  Students will receive a note before lunch indicating they are required to attend lunch intervention.  Students will get their lunch and meet in the designated room to eat lunch.  Students are required to bring homework with them to lunch intervention or they will be provided with an alternate assignment.
